The Pivot: Removing Platform Syndication
The original version of Talk to Review had a feature: after transcription, we'd show buttons to copy the review and paste it to Google, Yelp, Facebook, and Trustpilot.
It seemed clever. Get a voice review AND distribute it everywhere.
In practice, it was a mess: - Too many steps after the emotional moment of recording - Users confused about what to do next - The "copy to clipboard" → "open Google" → "paste" flow felt janky - It diluted the core value prop
So we killed it.
Now the flow is: record → approve → done.
The review lives on YOUR site via the embed widget. You own it. No platform dependency.
This felt scary at first—aren't Google reviews more valuable? Maybe. But a review that actually gets submitted is infinitely more valuable than one that gets abandoned halfway through a 6-step process.
Focus wins. Simplicity wins.
